About Benkum Senior High
Established in 1949 by Dr Alex Ansah Kofi of the Ekumide family of Ahenease, Larteh-Akuapem, initially it was called Larteh National Secondary School. Later the name was changed to Larteh Secondary School and finally renamed Benkum Senior High to reflect the position of the Chief of Larteh as the Benkumhene of the Akuapem Traditional Area.
