The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic year for all second cycle institutions across the country.
According to the release, first-year students in both single-track and transitional schools are expected to report on Saturday, 18th October 2025. The Service emphasized that all other key term dates and holidays have been clearly outlined in the academic calendar shared with schools.
To ensure smooth implementation, GES has included detailed footnotes in the calendar to provide guidance on special arrangements and considerations throughout the school year.
In a directive to Regional Directors, GES urged them to disseminate the academic calendar to all Heads of second cycle institutions under their jurisdiction. Regional Directors are also tasked to provide the necessary monitoring and support to ensure Heads of Schools strictly adhere to the calendar for consistency across the country.
“The Service counts on your usual cooperation to ensure effective teaching and learning in our institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year,” the statement concluded.
