The Ghana Education Service has officially announced the release of the 2023 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results, marking a crucial step for parents, students, and the general public. As of November 28, 2023, the CSSPS has gone live, providing valuable information for the placement of students into Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training Schools (TVET).

Out of the 598,839 results received from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), an impressive 585,797 candidates have qualified for placement. Notably, 81.56% of these candidates, totaling 477,772 students, have been automatically placed in one of their preferred choices—a significant improvement compared to the previous year, with over 100,000 more students successfully placed.

However, 108,025 qualified candidates, constituting 18.44% of the total, could not be matched with any of their choices. For such candidates, the Ghana Education Service has introduced a Self-Placement Module, allowing them to select from available schools. To access this module, candidates should follow a straightforward process:

1. Obtain a placement pin code from an approved vendor.

2. Log onto the official placement site at (https://cssps.gov.gh/)

3. Enter the ten-digit index number with the addition of ’23’ as the year of completion (e.g., 123456789023).

4. Enter the pin code details, including the serial number and pin.

5. Click on submit and await the placement results.

6. Print the enrolment form, placement slip, and prospectus.

Self-Placement Module:

Candidates not matched with any of their choices through the automatic placement system, will be redirected to the Self-Placement Portal. From there, students can select a school by providing information such as region, residential preference, school, and program of choice. The selected schools on the Self-Placement Portal can be changed as many times as needed until the candidate enrolls in a school. Once the form is filled out, candidates should print it and visit the selected school to initiate the admission process.

The Ghana Education Service emphasizes that all schools with vacancies have been uploaded on the portal for students to select from during self-placement without any complications. It’s crucial to note that the Computerized School Placement is merit-based, and parents are strongly cautioned against paying money to individuals promising to alter their child’s school placement.

Institutions are set to commence registration and orientation on December 4, 2023. For further assistance and concerns, the public can contact the National Solution Centre at the GNAT Hall, Adabraka, the Regional Solution Centres at various Regional Education Offices, or call the helpline at 0308258001.
